Gathering All Muslim Artists

The mission of Gathering All Muslim Artists (GAMA) is to provide opportunities for Muslim artists, to advocate for the arts in the broader Muslim community, and to change the narrative about Islam in the United States and beyond using visual art and creativity. Its vision is to build a platform that nurtures Muslim artists in order to weave the arts back into the mainstream Muslim narrative and to develop a culture of creativity and patronage within the broader Muslim community.

Khamsa Exhibition

Aggregate Space Gallery 1255 26th Street, Unit 101, Oakland, CA

Khamsa is a visual and musical journey through the five stages of grief, encouraging the audience to explore different aspects of trauma’s universality. A collaborative creation led by Muslim artist, community organizer and activist Guled Muse in partnership with ARTogether and Gathering All Muslim Artists (GAMA), Khamsa will be a multimedia installation addressing the different stages of the grieving process: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Collaborating artists include musicians and visual artists of color from across the United States.
